The author is Dr. Emanuel Tanay, a well-known and well respected forensic psychiatrist and an expert witness in many famous cases. His references
to past history are accurate and clear. Not
long, easy to understand, and well worth the read.
A Holocaust Survivor’s View on Islam A man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number
of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude
toward fanaticism. 'Very few people were true Nazis,' he said, 'but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more
were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat
back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had
come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the
Allies destroyed my factories.'
We are told again and again by 'experts' and 'talking heads' that Islam is the religion
of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may
be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the
specter of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.
The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment
in history. It is the fanatics who march... It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is
the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over
the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor-kill. It is the fanatics
who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals.
It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers.
The hard, quantifiable
fact is that the peaceful majority, the 'silent majority,' is cowed and extraneous.
Communist Russia
was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of
about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China’s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese
Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.
The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering
sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic
murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet.
And who can forget Rwanda,
which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were ‘peace loving’?
History lessons
are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of
points:
Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence.
Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don't
speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of
their world will have begun.
Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs,
Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died
because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.
As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts -- the fanatics who threaten our way
of life.
Lastly, anyone who doubts that the issue is serious, AND DOES NOTHING, is contributing to the passiveness that allows
the problems to expand. So, extend yourself a bit and speak out against the slaughter! Let us hope that thousands,
worldwide, read this and think about it, before it's too late.

JULY, 2009 President Obama's choice as attorney to the State Department was Harold Koh. Senate
approved the choice and Harold Koh was sworn in. You may not know that Harold Koh believes in European Law and is anti
the American Constitution, Koh says he wants to impose Shariah Finance on America, and in general has all
but said out loud that he hates America as we know it. He will now be advising the State Dept. what's best for America.

How seriously should we in America take the threat of shariah Islamic law, and specifically shariah finance? We
would argue we need to take it every bit as seriously as the Islamists who are looking to advance shariah in any and every
way possible.
Below is a link to a 1 minute promotional video posted on YouTube by Hizb ut-Tahrir. The video is
a promotion for an event at a private Islamic school located in a suburb of Chicago.
Hizb ut-Tahrir means “party
of liberation” in Arabic. This Islamist organization believes it has a call from Allah to “liberate” the
entire world to Islam.
The message of the video couldn’t be more clear – “The fall of capitalism;
the rise of Islam.” As the post on shariahfinancewatch.org below states: This should serve as a stark warning for those who believe that Shariah-Compliant Finance is just some benign tool
for pious Muslims to avoid interest. As we have reported, Islamic leaders referred to Shariah-Compliant Finance as “missionary
work” at the last World Islamic Economic Forum in Jakarta, Indonesia. PLEASE VIEW THE VIDEO AND THEN FORWARD THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. LET THEM SEE FOR THEMSELVES

is a global Jihadist political organization which has been especially active in Great Britain in recent years. The organization

The goal of the Hizb ut-Tahrir
is the establishment of a global caliphate ruled by Shariah. Notice that their first US event is being held at an Islamic

It may be difficult for Americans to understand how a private school
in our country can play host to an organization which seeks Islamic world rule, but such is the nature of Jihad. It’s
just not something we can understand easily. If a Christian private school in America were to host a Ku Klux Klan rally, complete
with a YouTube video, what do YOU suppose the reaction would be?

One of the most significant
aspects of this video is that it has Islam and Shariah replacing CAPITALISM, as opposed to democracy or secularism or Christianity
or something else that the Jihadists are known to hate.
The Jihadists see Shariah as a replacement for capitalism.

This should serve as a stark warning for those who believe that Shariah-Compliant

Shariah-Compliant Finance into our financial system over time could put us in a position in which we can be blackmailed en
masse or extorted by those with financial leverage over us.

The ACT! for America mission is an ambitious one – to combat the threat of radical Islam to America
in whatever forms that threat may take. This is why we focus on everything from combating terrorism to resisting cultural
jihad. If we successfully prevent terrorism, but fail to prevent the subversion of our society resulting from cultural or
stealth jihad, we have not successfully stopped the threat of radical Islam. If we prevent the assault of stealth jihad, but
are successfully targeted by major terrorist acts, we have also been unsuccessful in stopping the threat of radical Islam.
This is why the threat of radical Islam is so serious.
And the threat of an Islamist regime
or terrorist organization attacking us with an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) attack, triggered by a nuclear detonation above
our atmosphere, may well be the most serious threat of all.
Over the past several months we have sent
out several emails reporting on this threat, how an EMP attack could knock out much of our power grid, as well as our communications
infrastructure, transportation, banking and finance – in short, every infrastructure dependent on electrical power and
electronics.
The potential devastation is so great that even some of our members have emailed us with questions
asking “could this possibly happen?”
The answer, unfortunately, and frighteningly, is yes.
This is not Guy Rodgers talking, or ACT! for America. This is the conclusion of the national Commission to Assess the Threat
to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack.
The members of this commission are a “who’s
who” in aerospace, communications, energy, defense, and nuclear weapons fields. One year ago this little-known Commission
released a report of its findings on the impact of an EMP attack on our national infrastructures (http://empcommission.org/).
In the Preface of this 2008 report we read: “A single EMP attack may seriously degrade or shut down a large part of the electric
power grid in the geographic area of EMP exposure effective instantaneously.” In Chapter Two we read:
“…the cascading effects from even one or two relatively
small weapons exploded in optimum location in space at present would almost certainly shut down an entire interconnected electrical
power system, perhaps affecting as much as 70% or possibly more of the United States, all in an instant…” (p.
19). Imagine a collapse of 70% or more of our nation’s electrical grid. Imagine that this collapse
didn’t last for a few days, such as occurs after a blackout or a storm, but lasted for weeks – even months. Imagine
life without any electrical power for weeks, even months.
I have lived through the aftermath of a hurricane, where
electricity was knocked out for days. If you’ve never experienced something like this, it’s hard to appreciate
how much everything we do is dependent on electricity. It’s more than the lights going out and the air conditioning
not working.
You can’t refrigerate food. Unless you have a natural gas or propane grill (or a lot of charcoal),
you can’t cook food. The water supply is unreliable at best. You can’t get gasoline to run your car. You can’t
get money from an ATM. You can’t get health care or buy a prescription. Telecommunications are severely limited. You
might be able to make a cell phone call but it’s unlikely you could make a landline phone call. Unless you have a battery-operated
radio, you can’t get news or information. If the weather is cold you won’t have heat. If the weather is hot you
swelter.
Those of us who have lived through this knew that help was on the way. That, in time, electricity trucks
from outside our area would roll in to help restore power. That emergency food supplies would soon be shipped in.
What would happen to us if there was no one “outside our area” who could come with help? What would happen to
is if we were forced to live without electricity, not for days, but for months? And not just us, but the vast majority of
people throughout the country?
This is not mere speculation, hyperbole or sci-fi fantasy.
The implications
of this are, candidly, terrifying – and, I agree, almost unimaginable. It will not be necessary for an enemy of ours
to launch numerous nuclear weapons at us in order to destroy or at least seriously cripple us. As the Commission report notes,
the explosion of “one or two relatively small weapons” could shut down most of the nation’s power grid.
Such an electrical failure would impact and disrupt everything in our society. Who would police our streets to
prevent lawlessness like we saw in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina? What would you do when you ran out of food and water?
Who could come to help us when virtually everyone in the country was suffering the same fate? Who would defend us from an
invasion by a foreign army – and how would our government even know such an army was coming?
It is difficult
to imagine or describe the chaos that would ensue, but as the Commission’s report notes, it is likely millions and millions
of people would die if the power outage was not solved in a short period of time. Picture scenes from the worst apocalyptic
film you can think of.
In other words, a country like Iran, with only a few nuclear weapons strategically
launched for optimum effect, would send us hurtling back to the early 18th century – but without the ability
those in the 18th century had to manage their lives without electricity.
The threat of EMP
is not new. According to a publication of EMPACT (EMP Awareness Coordination Task Force), in 1999 a Russian committee chairman made this chilling statement to a
delegation of the U.S. House of Representatives Armed Services Committee: “Hypothetically, if Russia
really wanted to hurt the United States…Russia could…detonate a single nuclear warhead at high-altitude over
the United States. The resulting electromagnetic pulse would massively disrupt U.S. communications and computer systems, shutting
down everything.” More ominously, the EMPACT publication opened with a description of what appears to
be an actual instance of an EMP attack caused by a nuclear weapon detonation: “In 1962, deep in a cold war with the Soviet Union, the United States conducted 'Starfish Prime,' a nuclear
weapon test over a remote region of the Pacific Ocean. The test was successful, with one unexpected result: Fifteen hundred
kilometers away in Hawaii streetlights burned out, TV sets and radios failed and power lines fused.” North
Korea continues to conduct missile launches and develop nuclear weapons. We know that North Korea is assisting Iran in its
drive to develop nuclear weapons AND the missile technology with which to launch them, and that Iran has joined North Korea
in conducting missile launches to test its technology. The signs couldn’t be clearer.
We also know that
many of the leaders of Iran believe that worldwide chaos must occur to set the stage for the reappearance of the 12th
Imam. As Iranian President Ahmadinejad proclaimed in a speech in 2005: “Our revolution’s main mission is to pave the way for the reappearance of the 12th Imam, the Mahdi.”
It is difficult to envision a more effective way to create massive chaos – in America, in Israel, and in Europe –
than through the strategic launch and detonation of a small number of nuclear weapons that trigger an EMP attack.
Americans must awaken to the reality of the threat of an EMP attack before it’s too late to prevent it from happening.
Perhaps such an EMP attack wouldn’t occur after the detonation of a high-altitude nuke. Perhaps. Are you willing to
go about your daily life in the hope that it won’t? In the chance that it won’t?
We’re not.
That’s why ACT! for America is developing a plan to mobilize Americans to action this year. As the Commission
report states, it’s not too late to prevent this from happening, but there are actions America must take sooner rather
than later to head off an EMP-triggered apocalypse.
We cannot dismiss this threat and we must not succumb
to fear. We as a nation can effectively prepare to prevent the threat, if we have the will to act.

A sword of Damocles hangs over our heads. It is a real threat that has been all but ignored.
On Feb. 3, Iran launched a “communications satellite” into orbit. At this very moment, North Korea is
threatening to do the same. The ability to launch an alleged communications satellite belies a far more frightening truth.
A rocket that can carry a satellite into orbit also can drop a nuclear warhead over any location on the planet in less than
45 minutes.
Far too many timid or uninformed sources maintain that a single launch of a missile poses no true
threat to the United States, given our retaliatory power.
A reality check is in order and must be discussed in
response to such an absurd claim: In fact, one small nuclear weapon, delivered by an ICBM can destroy the United States by
maximizing the effect of the resultant electromagnetic pulse upon detonation.
An electromagnetic pulse (EMP) is
a byproduct of detonating an atomic bomb above the Earth’s atmosphere. When a nuclear weapon is detonated in space,
the gamma rays emitted trigger a massive electrical disturbance in the upper atmosphere. Moving at the speed of light, this
overload will short out all electrical equipment, power grids and delicate electronics on the Earth’s surface. In fact,
it would take only one to three weapons exploding above the continental United States to wipe out our entire grid and transportation
network. It might take years to recover from, if ever.
This is not science fiction. If you doubt this, spend a
short amount of time skimming the Report of the Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic
Pulse Attack from April 2008. You will come away sobered.
Even as the new administration plans to spend trillions
on economic bailouts, it has announced plans to reduce funding and downgrade efforts for missile defense. Furthermore, the
United States’ reluctance to invest in a modern and credible traditional nuclear deterrent is a serious concern. What
good will a bailout be if there is no longer a nation to bail out? Fifty years ago, it was not Sputnik itself that sent a
dire chill of warning around the world; it was the capability of the rocket that launched Sputnik. The rocket that lofted
Sputnik into orbit also could have served as an ICBM.
Yet for all its rhetoric, the Soviet Union was essentially
a rational power that recognized the threat of mutual destruction and thus never stepped to the edge.
The world
is different today. Intercontinental range missiles tipped with nuclear weapons in the hands of leaders driven by fanaticism,
leaders that support global terrorism, leaders that have made repeated threats that they will seek our annihilation . . .
can now at last achieve that dream in a matter of minutes.
Those who claim that there is little to fear from Iran
or North Korea because “at best” they will have only one or two nuclear weapons ignore the catastrophic level
of threat we now face from just “a couple” of nuclear weapons.
Again: One to three missiles tipped
with nuclear weapons and armed to detonate at a high altitude — to achieve the strongest EMP over the greatest area
of the United States — would create an EMP “overlay” that triggers a continent-wide collapse of our entire
electrical, transportation, and communications infrastructure.
Within weeks after such an attack, tens of millions
of Americans would perish. The impact has been likened to a nationwide Hurricane Katrina. Some studies estimate that 90 percent
of all Americans might very well die in the year after such an attack as our transportation, food distribution, communications,
public safety, law enforcement, and medical infrastructures collapse.
We most likely would never recover from
the blow.
Two things need to be done now and without delay:
1. Make clear in the strongest of terms
that, if either Iran or North Korea launches a rocket on a trajectory headed toward the territory of the United States, we
will shoot it down. The risk of not doing so is beyond acceptable. And if they construe this as an act of war, so be it, for
they fired the first shot. The risk of sitting back for 30 minutes and praying it is not an EMP strike is beyond acceptable,
beyond rational on our part.
2. Funding for EMP defense must be a top national priority. To downgrade or halt
our missile defense program, which at last is becoming viable after 25 years of research, would be an action of criminal negligence.
Surely, with such a threat confronting us, a fair and open debate, with full public access and the setting aside
of partisan politics, is in order. In the meantime, a policy must be stated today that we will indeed shoot down any missile
aimed towards the United States that is fired by Iran or North Korea. America’s survival, your survival, and your family’s
survival might very well depend on it. Netanyahu to Obama: Stop Iran—Or I Will
The message from Israel's new prime minister
is stark: if the Obama administration doesn't prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons, Israel may be forced to attack.

In an interview conducted shortly before
he was sworn in today as prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu laid down a challenge for Barack Obama. The American
president, he said, must stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons—and quickly—or an imperiled Israel may be forced
to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities itself.
“The Obama presidency has two great missions: fixing the
economy, and preventing Iran from gaining nuclear weapons,” Netanyahu told me. He said the Iranian nuclear challenge
represents a “hinge of history” and added that “Western civilization” will have failed if Iran is
allowed to develop nuclear weapons.
In unusually blunt language, Netanyahu said of the Iranian leadership, “You
don’t want a messianic apocalyptic cult controlling atomic bombs. When the wide-eyed believer gets hold of the reins
of power and the weapons of mass death, then the entire world should start worrying, and that is what is happening in Iran.”
History teaches Jews that threats against their collective existence should be taken seriously, and, if possible,
preempted, he suggested. In recent years, the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has regularly called for Israel to be
“wiped off the map,” and the supreme Iranian leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, this month called Israel a “cancerous tumor.”
But Netanyahu also said that Iran threatens many other countries apart from Israel, and
so his mission over the next several months is to convince the world of the broad danger posed by Iran. One of his chief security
advisers, Moshe Ya’alon, told me that a nuclear Iran could mean the end of American influence in the Middle East. “This
is an existential threat for Israel, but it will be a blow for American interests, especially on the energy front. Who will
dominate the oil in the region—Washington or Tehran?”
Netanyahu said he would support President Obama’s
decision to engage Iran, so long as negotiations brought about a quick end to Iran’s nuclear ambitions. “How you
achieve this goal is less important than achieving it,” he said, but he added
that he was skeptical that Iran would respond positively to Obama’s appeals. In an hour-long conversation, held
in the Knesset, Netanyahu tempered his aggressive rhetoric with an acknowledgement that nonmilitary pressure could yet work.
“I think the Iranian economy is very weak, which makes Iran susceptible to sanctions that can be ratcheted up by a variety
of means.” When I suggested that this statement contradicted his assertion that Iran, by its fanatic nature, is immune
to pressure, Netanyahu smiled thinly and said, “Iran is a composite leadership, but in that composite leadership there
are elements of wide-eyed fanaticism that do not exist right now in any other would-be nuclear power in the world. That’s
what makes them so dangerous.”
He went on, “Since the dawn
of the nuclear age, we have not had a fanatic regime that might put its zealotry above its self-interest. People say
that they’ll behave like any other nuclear power. Can you take the risk? Can you assume that?”
Netanyahu offered Iran’s behavior during its eight-year war with Iraq as proof of Tehran’s
penchant for irrational behavior. Iran “wasted over a million lives without batting an eyelash … It didn’t
sear a terrible wound into the Iranian consciousness. It wasn’t Britain after World War I, lapsing into pacifism because
of the great tragedy of a loss of a generation. You see nothing of the kind.” [Editor’s
Note: This is why President Obama’s words to the Iranian leaders, that claim we share the same values of the “preciousness
of humanity”, were incorrect, and reveal a stunning misunderstanding of the worldview of the Iranian mullahs. They don’t
share this value –even when it comes to their own people.]
He continued: “You see a country
that glorifies blood and death, including its own self-immolation.” I asked Netanyahu if he believed Iran would risk
its own nuclear annihilation at the hands of Israel or America. “I’m not going to get into that,” he said.
Neither Netanyahu nor his principal military advisers would suggest a deadline for American progress on the Iran
nuclear program, though one aide said pointedly that Israeli time lines are now drawn in months, “not years.”
These same military advisers told me that they believe Iran’s defenses remain penetrable, and that Israel would not
necessarily need American approval to launch an attack. “The problem is not military capability, the problem is whether
you have the stomach, the political will, to take action,” one of his advisers, who spoke on condition of anonymity,
told me.
Both Israeli and American intelligence officials agree that Iran is moving forward in developing a nuclear-weapons
capability. The chief of Israeli military intelligence, Major General Amos Yadlin, said earlier this month that Iran has already “crossed the technological threshold,” and that nuclear military capability
could soon be a fact: “Iran is continuing to amass hundreds of kilograms of low-enriched uranium, and it hopes to exploit
the dialogue with the West and Washington to advance toward the production of an atomic bomb.”
American
officials argue that Iran has not crossed the “technological threshold”; the director of national intelligence,
Admiral Dennis Blair, said recently that Israel and the U.S. are working with the same set of facts, but are interpreting it differently. “The
Israelis are far more concerned about it, and they take more of a worst-case approach to these things from their point of
view,” he said. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Michael Mullen, recently warned that an Israeli attack on
Iran’s nuclear facilities would undermine stability in the Middle East and endanger the lives of Americans in the Persian
Gulf.
The Obama administration agrees with Israel that Iran’s nuclear program is a threat to Middle East
stability, but it also wants Israel to focus on the Palestinian question. Netanyahu, for his part, promises to move forward
on negotiations with the Palestinians, but he made it clear in our conversation that he believes a comprehensive peace will
be difficult to achieve if Iran continues to threaten Israel, and he cited Iran’s sponsorship of such Islamist groups
as Hezbollah and Hamas as a stumbling block.
Ya’alon, a former army
chief of staff who is slated to serve as Netanyahu’s minister for strategic threats, dismissed the possibility of a
revitalized peace process, telling me that “jihadists” interpret compromise as weakness. He cited the reaction
to Israel’s unilateral withdrawal from Gaza four years ago. “The mistake of disengagement from Gaza was that we
thought like Westerners, that compromise would defuse a problem—but it just encouraged the problem,” he said.
“The jihadists saw withdrawal as a defeat of the West … Now, what do you signal to them if you are ready to divide
Jerusalem, or if you’re ready to withdraw to the 1967 lines? In this kind of conflict, your ability to stand and be
determined is more important than your firepower.”

2009On Tuesday January 20, two groups have been directly hurt by radical, militant Islam,
Jewish and Hindus, will join forces to tell President Barack Obama, "Yes we can--and must--defeat the jihadists."
Calling themselves the Coalition for Peace, American Jewish and Hindu groups along with Christians plan to demonstrate
in Lafayette Park in front of the White House from 1-4:30pm. All their banners will essentially urge Mr. Obama to "protect
the Free World from radical Islam." To accomplish this, they say, the President, in the name of world peace, must
reform radical Islamist madrassas so that these schools stop teaching hate; seize Saudi assets in order to pay for the
Islamists' crimes against humanity; force Iran to halt its nuclear-weapons program that has directly threatened Israel;
and recognize that Pakistan has played a double-game with the US, presenting itself as a friendly ally of America, while,
at the same time, hosting terrorists who are plotting to murder all non-Muslims, especially targeting their next-door
neighbors in India. The demonstrators will point out that the same ideology that led to the terrorism that struck Mumbai
in November and, during the last ten years, resulted in the murder of some 18,000 Indians (60,000 terror incidents),

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, made a final plea this week to President George Bush to
commute the sentences of jailed U.S. Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean. “Because of the excesses
of the prosecution against them, they will continue to sit alone in those cells for another decade,” Cornyn wrote, according
to a report in the WorldNetDaily. “That is unless President Bush commutes their unjust sentences. In his remaining days
as president, I ask President Bush to show mercy and use his clemency power to give back Agents Ramos and Compean the next
10 years of their lives.” Cornyn joins Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and many other lawmakers who have written
letters to Bush urging him to commute the agents’ sentences. “I have reached the conclusion as a senator,
a former judge, and a citizen, that the loss of their jobs and the prison time they have already served has been more than
enough punishment,” Cornyn wrote. “This is a case of prosecutorial overreaching.” Cornyn said Ramos
and Compean were charged with a federal gun crime that many have argued was not meant to apply to law enforcement officers
in the line of duty. “As a result, the penalty levied on these men was grossly excessive,” he wrote. Rep.
Kevin Brady, R-Texas, has also joined the ranks of the last-minute petitioners who must see their relief granted in the very
few days until the end of President Bush’s term in office. “These officers made mistakes, but their sentences
were far too harsh. They have served enough time for their convictions,” Brady said, according to a report in the Montgomery
County Courier. "President Bush needs to relieve these officers of the remainder of their sentences.” Compean
and Ramos were arrested following a shooting incident along the Rio Grande River in Texas on Feb. 17, 2005. Mexican
national Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila entered the country illegally in a van carrying 743 pounds of marijuana. When the two agents
confronted him, he scuffled with them and tried to flee back across the border. The agents opened fire, hitting Aldrete-Davila
in the buttocks, but but he continued to flee. It is illegal for federal agents to fire upon fleeing felons or suspects.
The agents later said they saw a shiny object in Aldrete-Davila’s hand they thought was a gun. After a two-week
jury trial, Ramos and Compean were convicted in March 2006 in federal court in El Paso on several charges, including assault
with a deadly weapon, obstruction of justice — for failing to report the incident properly — and a civil rights
violation. The agents were acquitted of the most serious offense, assault with intent to commit murder. In October
2006, Ramos, who was nominated to be Border Patrol Agent of the Year, was sentenced to 11 years and one day in prison, and
Compean received a 12-year sentence. Aldrete-Davila was again caught smuggling marijuana while he was waiting to testify
against the agents. In February 2007, a gang of illegal immigrants severely beat Ramos while he was in prison, and
he and Compean were placed in solitary confinement for their own protection. On Nov. 12, in a review of sentence required
after the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals’ decided this year to drop one of the pair’s convictions, a
federal judge in El Paso resentenced Compean to 10 years for using a firearm in the course of a felony and two
years more for assault and other charges, according to a report in the Houston Chronicle. The next day, Ramos
was resentenced to the same 11-year prison sentence originally imposed on him, the El Paso Times reported. |

former organizers were found guilty of illegally funneling more than $12 million to the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas.

Foundation defendants found guilty on all counts The verdicts by a
Dallas federal jury are a significant victory for the Justice Department, which streamlined its case after a mistrial last
year and worked hard to carefully educate jurors on the complex evidence presented in the massive case. Guilty verdicts
were read on 108 separate charges. The verdicts are a major triumph for the outgoing administration of President George
W. Bush, whose efforts at fighting terrorism financing have been troubled. Two other similar high-profile prosecutions targeting
supporters of Palestinian militants have ended in acquittals, deadlocked juries or convictions on lesser charges. "Today's
verdicts are important milestones in America's efforts against financiers of terrorism," Patrick Rowan, assistant attorney
general for national security, said in a prepared statement. "This prosecution demonstrates our resolve to ensure
that humanitarian relief efforts are not used as a mechanism to disguise and enable support for terrorist groups." Peter
Margulies, a Roger Williams University law professor who studies terrorism financing cases, said, "The government showed
in a streamlined case that where special assistance to the families of terrorists is concerned, cash is the moral equivalent
of a car bomb." The jury also said Holy Land should forfeit $12.4 million because of several money-laundering
convictions in the case. Prosecutors said the government probably will end up with about $5 million in Holy Land money frozen
by federal authorities in 2001. Monday's verdicts capped the government's second attempt to convict the men and the
now-defunct Richardson-based Holy Land Foundation itself. It took the jury eight days of deliberations to reach its decisions
– less than half the time it took jurors to end up with an almost complete mistrial last year. already discussing plans for appeals. Prosecutor Jim Jacks called his nearly decade-long involvement in the case, gratifying.
"My kids were in junior high when we started this case. They're out of college now," he said. "We had
a strong case last year. This year, we refined the case. ... We had the benefit of being able to talk to the jurors after
that first trial." Opening statements at the Earle Cabell Federal Building in downtown Dallas began Sept. 22.
Prosecutors used more than 500 pieces of evidence to prove five former charity organizers used Holy Land, once the largest
Muslim charity in the U.S., to funnel almost $60 million to the militant group. Hamas was designated a terrorist organization
by the U.S. in 1995, and the trial centered on the $12 million the government said Holy Land and supporters funneled to the
group after that date. Prosecutors say Holy Land was formed about the same time as Hamas in the late 1980s and early on was
designated as its chief financier in America. The conspiracy, prosecutors alleged, was overseen by the Muslim Brotherhood,
the Egypt-based Islamist group that authorities say is the parent organization of Hamas. Douglas Farah, a former Washington
Post foreign correspondent who is now an author and terrorism expert, said the "trial provides an invaluable forum
for publicly showing the true agenda of the international Muslim Brotherhood and its organizations in the United States –
the abolition of the United States government as we know it and support for a designated terrorist organization." Defense
attorneys argued that the foundation was a legitimate charity that helped distressed Palestinians under Israeli occupation.
They accused the government of bending to Israeli pressure and of relying on evidence predating the 1995 designation. "The
community sentiment ... was that this was a political trial trying to achieve a government policy," said Mohamed Elibiary,
president of the Freedom and Justice Foundation, a Muslim group based in Plano. "Most sense that this isn't over,"
he said, adding that many in the Muslim community are still offended by the government's list of more than 300 unindicted
co-conspirators, which includes Muslim leaders and groups in the U.S. "That list implicates most of the Muslim
community in a wider conspiracy," he said. The FBI's investigation of Holy Land began in 1993 and the charity
was shut down by the government in December 2001. The first trial ended in a hung jury in October 2007. Terrorism experts
say Monday's verdicts demonstrate that complicated terrorism financing cases can be successfully prosecuted in American criminal
courts. The verdicts also lend credibility to the Treasury Department's oft-criticized program of designating terrorist entities
and freezing assets. The verdict "sends a crystal-clear message that the United States will neither allow itself
to serve as a cash cow for terrorist groups nor allow the charitable sector to be abused by groups financing terrorism under
the cover of charity," said Matt Levitt, a Hamas expert and former high-ranking government intelligence official who
testified in both trials. But critics of the government noted that it took untold millions of taxpayer dollars, 15
years of investigation and two long trials to get guilty verdicts. "Retrials tend to favor the prosecution,"
said Tom Melsheimer, a former federal prosecutor in Dallas now in private practice. "The government can figure out what
worked and what didn't and streamline their presentation of the evidence. The defense, on the other hand, has already shown
their cards. "To spend millions of dollars in time and expenses to prosecute people who were of no real threat
to anyone, under the banner of a terrorism case, is a waste of precious federal resources," he said. Mark Briskman,
regional director of the North Texas office of the Anti-Defamation League in Dallas, said funding terrorism in any form is
a big threat to national security. "By funneling millions of dollars to Hamas, this organization and its leaders
believed that it could help those who resort to violence to support their cause," he said. "All Americans should
thank the Justice Department for their aggressive and tenacious pursuit of this group and its leaders."

also called the president-elect — along with secretaries of state Colin Powell and Condoleezza Rice — "house
negroes." Speaking in Arabic, al-Zawahri uses the term "abeed
al-beit," which literally translates as "house slaves." But al-Qaida supplied English subtitles of his speech
that included the translation as "house negroes." The message
also includes old footage of speeches by Malcolm X in which he explains the term, saying black slaves who worked in their
white masters' house were more servile than those who worked in the fields. Malcolm X used the term to criticize black leaders
he accused of not standing up to whites. In Washington, State Department
spokesman Sean McCormack said the latest message was just "more despicable comments from a terrorist." The 11-minute 23-second video features the audio message by al-Zawahri, who
appears only in a still image, along with other images, including one of Obama wearing a Jewish skullcap as he meets with
Jewish leaders. In his speech, al-Zawahri refers to a Nov. 5 U.S. airstrike attack in Afghanistan, meaning the video was made
after that date. Al-Zawahri said Obama's election has not changed
American policies he said are aimed at oppressing Muslims and others. "America
has put on a new face, but its heart full of hate, mind drowning in greed, and spirit which spreads evil, murder, repression
and despotism continue to be the same as always," the deputy of al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden said. He said Obama's plan to shift troops to Afghanistan is doomed to failure, because Afghans will
resist. "Be aware that the dogs of Afghanistan have found the
flesh of your soldiers to be delicious, so send thousands after thousands to them," he said. Al-Zawahri did not threaten specific attacks, but warned Obama that he was "facing a Jihadi
(holy war) awakening and renaissance which is shaking the pillars of the entire Islamic world; and this is the fact which
you and your government and country refuse to recognize and pretend not to see." He said Obama's victory showed Americans acknowledged that President George W. Bush's policies were a failure and
that the result was an "admission of defeat in Iraq." But
Obama's professions of support for Israel during the election campaign "confirmed to the Ummah (Islamic world) that you

at America's pre-eminent college.

Over the past few years, Harvard University has received millions in endowments from rich Saudi
and Emirate sheiks. Now it's returning the favor by Islamizing its campus and promoting the Shariah agenda of its new Arab
masters. Recently, the Ivy League school has made special accommodations for the religious needs of Muslim students,
including, and rescheduling of exams to observe Islamic holidays. And this weekend it hosted a $400-per-person conference
on Shariah finance led by officials from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The goal of the forum — sponsored
by Harvard's Islamic Finance Project — is to "integrate" Islamic finance into the mainstream economy. That's
a tough fit, because Islamic, or Shariah, finance forbids investment in major Western industries, including those that derive
substantial income from interest. Banking and insurance, as well as alcohol, tobacco or pork -related industries,
are not considered "halal," or allowable, under Islam. Entertainment is also unlawful. Shariah-compliant
investments are monitored by paid Shariah law advisers who must "purify" certain returns by donating them to Islamic
charities — including some that promote jihad and support suicide bombings. With $800 billion already in Shariah
assets — and $1 trillion to $2 trillion in Arab petrodollars annually looking for an investment home — the potential
for billions being siphoned off for terrorism is real. This, of course, would be a serious criminal violation of
U.S. law. Yet Western bankers, including many on Wall Street who are jumping into the Shariah finance market, don't know this. One
prominent Shariah adviser is Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi. He's a paid adviser to Arcapita (formerly Crescent Capital), which happens
to sponsor Harvard's Islamic Finance Project along with Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank. Al-Qaradawi is an Egyptian who has
advocated suicide bombings and described Shariah finance as nothing less than "jihad with money." He heads
the Islamic American University and is a proposed trustee of the Islamic Society of Boston. The director of Harvard's Islamic
Finance Project, S. Nazim Ali, is active in both the university and the Islamic Society. Ali is neither an economist nor a
scholar. His background is in computers. Another paid Shariah adviser is Sheik Muhammad Usmani, a Pakistani cleric
who r an a madrassa that trained thousands of Taliban and who recently wrote a book supporting jihad and Islamic domination.
He, too, has links to Harvard, according to the Center for Security Policy, a vanguard against so-called Shariah creep. Roger
Ferguson, president-elect of the university's board of overseers, joined Swiss RE in August 2006. Two months later, Usmani
was named chairman of Swiss RE's Shariah advisory board. Until recently, Usmani was listed as chief adviser to the
Dow Jones Islamic Fund, which is run by the North American Islamic Trust, a recently named co-conspirator in a federal terror-financing
case. Usmani's name — along with the entire section covering the fund's "Shariah supervisory board"
— mysteriously disappeared from the Islamic Trust's Web site after we exposed the fund's extremist ties in a Feb. 28
editorial ("The Risky Business of Islamic Finance"). Other key information on Shariah also has been purged. In addition,
the Islamic Trust renamed its Dow fund the "Iman Fund" and amended several paragraphs in its prospectus. It
appears Islamists are trying to use such Shariah-compliant financial products as tools to get Islamic law through the back
door into Western countries, including the U.S. They're enlisting our finest colleges in the project. If Arab sheiks

It's been hard to escape the news of the horrific atrocities coming out of Kenya. Just this past weekend, children
were torched, burnt alive in a Kenya church. In broad daylight, a crowd of Kenyans set a church filled with hundreds of terrified
families on fire and listened to their screams as flames engulfed them. More here The violence is the worst Kenya has witnessed since a failed coup in 1982. The media has been, shall we say obtuse,
in describing the combatants, the murderers - what exactly is at play.

Kenya's first truly free and fair democratic election was
in December 2002, won by Mwai Kibaki and a multi-ethnic coalition party NARC (National Rainbow Coalition).
One of the leaders of that coalition was Raila Odinga.
Kibaki didn't give him positions in the
new government that he felt were important enough, so Odinga formed an opposition party, ODM (Orange Democratic Movement,
orange the symbol color of opposition).
When Raila Odinga lost the presidential election last week (12/27) to Mwai
Kibaki, he claimed the vote was rigged, whereupon his tribal followers went on murderous rampages such as in the town of Eldoret,
where on New Years Day dozens of people were burned to death in a church set on fire.
Throughout Kenya, hundreds
of people have been politically murdered in the last few days.
Kenya's 37 million people are divided up into over
three dozen tribes and sub-tribes, but the two dominant ones are Kikuyu and Luo. Kenyan politics since independence
in 1963 has essentially been a duke-out between them.
The father of Kenyan independence and president until 1978
was Jomo Kenyatta, a Kikuyu. His main political opponent was Oginga Odinga, known as "OO,"
a Luo and Raila's father.
While Kenyatta was pro-West and sided with America in the Cold War, OO was a Communist
who was aided and supported by the Soviet Union.
That's why Raila went to school in East Germany (born in 1945,
he graduated from Magdeburg University in 1970), and named his first-born son after Fidel Castro.
Thus
it likely won't shock you to learn that Raila has now made a deal for support from the Soviets' successors as world-champion
enemies of the West and democratic freedoms: Moslem fundamentalists.
The Evangelical Alliance of Kenyahas posted on its website a photograph copy of a Memorandum of Understanding, dated and signed on August 29, 2007, between
Raila Odinga and Shiekh Abdullah Abdi, chairman of the National Muslim Leaders Forum of Kenya.
It pledges
the support of Kenyan Moslems for Raila's election. In return, as President of Kenya, Raila agrees to 14 actions, listed
a) through n) on page two. Read them all, and be sure you're sitting down. Here's a sample: b)
Within 6 months re-write the Constitution of Kenya to recognize Shariah as the only true law sanctioned by the Holy Quran
for Muslim declared regions. c) With immediate effect dismiss the Commissioner of Police who has allowed
himself to be used by heathens and Zionists to oppress the Kenyan Muslim community. g) Within one year
facilitate the establishment of a Shariah court in every Kenyan divisional headquarters. [Note: everywhere in Kenya,
not just in "Muslim declared regions."]
Again, read all of them, for others
are just as bad or worse. It may also not surprise you that Raila is not Moslem himself, but claims to be a
practicing Anglican. Only a minority of Luo are Moslem (most are Christian). Kenya on the whole is Christian,
with 80% of Kenyans either Protestant or Roman Catholic, while only 10% are Moslem.
And here is the biggest non-surprise:
Raila Odinga has, in his own words, a "close personal friendship" with Barrack Hussein Obama Junior.
When Obama went to Kenya in August of 2006, he was hosted by Raila and spoke in praise of him at rallies in Nairobi:
Obama's bias for his fellow Luo was so blatant that a Kenya government spokesman denounced Obama during his visit
as Raila's "stooge."

surge are withdrawn from Iraq. Meanwhile defense secy Robert Gates says us intends to send many more troops to Afghanistan
next year whether troop levels are cut further.
This is first time gates has made such a commitment. No word yet on how
many additional troops will be sent to Afghanistan.
It depends on US and NATO's continued success.
